1957 Asian Flu

Th 1957 Asian Flu was first detected in early 1957 and came to the U.S. during the Summer of 1957. Infection rates were highest among school children, young adults, and pregnant women in October 1957 after a return to school. The second wave occurred in January and February 1958. After that, the worst was over. About 69,800 people died in the United States from this disease, and the elderly were most effected.
